Tell us a little about you and your family, and how you came to live in Bali?
CISCO
I am the youngest of 4 daughters born and raised in Munich. I started modelling when I was 16 and travelling became very regular. I met George on a shoot for Ksubi. We met up in Bali as we were both there for a photoshoot. We got engaged on that trip and married a year later on the island. The connection to Bali is very strong, plus we love surfing. My husband used to do a lot of surf photoshoots for his surf label, so we were travelling to Bali on a regular basis.

What lessons have living in Bali taught you?
CISCO
To be in the moment. Balinese people don’t get stressed, they take things with a grain of salt, even if they are stuck in the worst traffic, there is no place they’d rather be and they make it fun. That’s very inspirational to me.

Tell us the story behind your hotel, The Slow.
CISCO
We are actually in the building process of our new home.
My dad is an architect in Munich and it was always my dream to do a project with him. The Slow was meant to be our ultimate island home, but when we came back from NYC and realised that we were smack bang in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. So we decided to turn our island home into an island stay. That was the birth of The Slow.

What is your biggest vice?

A cold San Miguel after a nice surf.

I would reword that and say I’m German, and I like to be organised. hahaha
TXC
What makes you lose control?
CISCO
A good kundalini yoga class and looking into the bright blue eyes of my baby boy.
TXC
And are you ok with losing control?
CISCO
Hell yeah!
TXC
What do you value?
CISCO
Every moment, every day, and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
TXC
What are your feelings about sharing your life on social media?
CISCO
I think everything in moderation. Maybe I’m a little old fashioned but I think there is a fine line for using Instagram for the tool it is and getting too much into it. I am not a fan of the virtual reality side.
TXC
What 5 key pieces make up your personal style?
CISCO
I love a pair of linen pants by All That Remains is Love, Harley vintage tee from my husband, gold chains by Maxi Mova Jewellery, an old Panama hat that I have had for years and a good pair of swimmers.

What are your favourite accounts on Instagram right now?
CISCO
fleurette, the account of my beautiful friend Christelle Scifo. She is a stylist and florist. I love her elegant eye. You can see some of the amazing work that she has done for my ceramic label Cisco and the Sun Home. I also love China Heights Gallery account, they are our partners in the slow’s room 13 gallery and curate all of our exhibitions. They showcase a lot of cool and emerging Australian artists.
